The heart regulates and influences  Neurological, Biophysical, Biochemical, Energetic and Intuitive body systems

The sciences of psychology and medicine are in midst of a  major paradigm shift as research findings have uncovered that the biology of the heart is a sensory organ that can learn, hold memory and make independent functional decisions. Even more surprising is the fact that the heart displays qualities of neuroplasticity*, and that it can reorganize itself by growing new neural connections, just as the brain can do. (*Neuroplasticity - as it relates to the nervous system - is the ability to change structurally and functionally as a result of input from the surrounding environment).

Even more of a paradigm shift is the Psychology bible used by psychologists, the Dignostical and Statistical Manual 5th edition (DSM5) is now becoming deeply controversial. Of the 400 or so diagnosis in the manual there has not been a single clinically validated bio-marker, genetic indicator, neurobiology indicator for any psychiatric condition for any of these 400 or so classifications even after an extensive 12 year scientific search to find bio-markers to support DSM5 classifications being released this year.

There is a developing understanding that the environmental, biophysical and micro-organism aspects of our internal environment influence symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression in a far more complex way than the diagnosis and classifications offered by the DSM. While the DSM is developed to deal with the symptoms they do not seem to address or examine the underlying bio-physical responses to environmental stressors and our physiological response to them.

Simply put, it is important to understand Psychophysiology response or The Psychology of Biology in dealing with the epidemic symptoms of stress response on our well-being.
